We are opening a representative office in Kyiv. From there, we will serve Finnish and international companies on the ground: those already operating in Ukraine, and those preparing to enter the market.

We have already advised hundreds of clients from more than 12 countries on insurance and risk management for business and travel in Ukraine.

“Ukraine’s reconstruction is not something that will suddenly begin when the war ends. Brave companies are already there, investing, building partnerships and preparing for the future. They are not simply waiting for the dust to settle. We want to be there with them,” says Hans Kapp, our Chairman.

More than war risk

Insurance needs in Ukraine go beyond war risk. Companies also need ordinary cover for property, staff, transport, construction and liability.

War risk is a separate layer. Cover for it can be sought from international specialty insurance markets, both for property and for people working in or travelling to Ukraine.

Some cover can be arranged in Ukraine, some in the company’s home country and some in the international specialty markets. We start by reviewing your current insurance and your operations in Ukraine. Then we build a programme in which local and international cover complement each other.

A link between clients, local partners and the markets

Our Kyiv office is the contact point between our clients, local partners and the insurance markets. We combine local Ukrainian insurance expertise with European insurers and international specialty insurance markets.

Cooperation opened doors in Finland and Ukraine

Finnish and international organisations and networks made our start in Kyiv much easier. Finnpartnership, EastCham Finland, the Confederation of Finnish Industries EK, East Office, Business Tampere and Business Sweden shared information, opened connections and helped us enter the Ukrainian market fast.

The reception in Ukraine has been just as positive. Local insurance and security companies and other partners have shared information, contacts and practical experience with us.

“What has impressed us is how easy people have made it for us to come to Ukraine. Instead of asking why we are coming now, the reaction has very often been: How can we help? There is a genuine do-it-together attitude both in Finland and Ukraine,” says Kai Hahl, our Director of Ukraine Operations and Commercial Director.

The people we met in Ukraine also weighed heavily in our decision to open a permanent office in Kyiv.

“We have also met remarkable people in Ukraine who continue working, building businesses, raising families and planning for the future while living through an extraordinarily difficult situation. Their resilience and optimism have made a strong impression on us and reinforced our decision that this is the right time to establish a permanent presence,” Kai says.
