Our SFDR principles

Harmful sustainability effects refer to negative effects on the environment, society or social factors that can arise from investment sites either directly or indirectly.

On a general level, Nordic Broker NB Oy emphasizes the importance of considering sustainability effects in insurance advice to its customers even before concluding an insurance contract.  We also find out what the customer’s point of view and willingness are regarding sustainability effects, so that we can offer them products that match their values.

Nordic Broker NB Oy does not provide investment advice to its customers, but directs customers to deal directly with the insurance company’s expert if the customer needs investment advice. Customers decide themselves or with the help of an insurance company the investment targets of their investment-linked insurances. For this reason, Nordic Broker NB Oy does not itself assess the adverse sustainability effects related to investment properties.

Insurance companies themselves are responsible for their insurance products, their management and sustainability effects. The role of Nordic Broker NB Oy is to convey the information provided by the insurance company to its customers regarding both existing and possible requested offers. However, we require from the insurance company that they have drawn up operational principles in accordance with the requirements of the SFDR regarding the consideration of adverse sustainability effects and that they report openly on sustainability issues and provide information to their customers either directly or via Nordic Broker NB Oy.

Nordic Broker NB Oy’s fee is paid by the customer. Nordic Broker NB Oy and its personnel do not receive commissions for brokering insurance from any insurance company, which ensures that the company and its personnel always act in accordance with the best interest of the customer without their own interests. Nordic Broker NB Oy’s own remuneration policy is confirmed annually, taking sustainability risks into account.
